Saint Iker asked me why do I even watch football if I always complain about the refs. Well I don’t…not anymore… I only watch Barca, this season I watched maybe 10 games that Barca wasn’t playing and the reason for this is very simple….. there is no point of watching football when all big games in recent years were decided by the refs. It doesn’t even matter why… is it because the refs are really incapable of doing their job? Things were not like this in the past, only in last 2 or 3 years they’re all of the sudden blind for most part of the game. They don’t even show us the ”yellow line” on replays about off side, that’s how much the refs are protected these days. Maybe there are so many ”mistakes” because the corruption is at high in the world of football but that wouldn’t explain how refs help Real Madrid against Man Utd or Bayern against Barca or any other big club. I doubt Bayern has more money or more influence than Barca to bribe the refs to give them 3 goals. Maybe UEFA wants certain clubs to play in the semis and the final, there is no secret how Platini wants more ”fresh faces” in CL, I am sure he hates it when certain clubs dominate Europe for too long but why are the league games fixed as well? Not to mention their stubborn ignoring of video technology. In any case as I said it doesn’t matter because there is absolutely nothing we can do…. it’s their game now, we’re just observers now.
Sad truth is that football is dead, it’s gone, only thing that is left is show business. It’s fascinating to me how people can’t see how football has changed, every week we have at least one game where the outcome of a match was decided by the wrong decisions by the refs, every single week and I am talking about title winning matches and CL KO stages. Only a fool would think all of this is just a coincidence, this is going on for too long now to be just a coincidence. Did you know that this year we have a CL finalist that is not wearing Nike or Adidas since Monaco playing with Puma shirts in 2004?? Gazprom being official sponsor of CL and Chelski?? lol And that’s just some random stuff…
Even Barca is not the same club as it was 15 years ago. We had no sponsor for over 100 years and then Laporta made a deal with UNICEF which was an honourable act. Ok maybe was just a laundering money scheme but still it was unique and unique is what Barca was for more than 100 years…. now we’re just one of other greedy money grabbing clubs. In the past the result was not important, that’s why Nunez didn’t want to give high salaries to ”stars”, the club was more important than trophies and money. Today we’re one of the greatest of all time and we conquered the world but lost our soul. Barca is not ”mes que un club” anymore, now is just another club that fall under the pressure of modern football…..
So my dear Saint Ikar I hope I answered your question. I lost one of my clubs, I lost Dinamo Zagreb because of corrupted presidents, once my favourite club is now the club I despise the most, I hope this will never happen with Barca….. maybe for you this is hard to understand because after all Real Madrid never had any pride an honour (sorry had to throw that in)
