Now I realized that México will play an international friendly after the Gold Cup on August 14 against Ivory Coast, but Ivory Coast are ranked #13 in the FIFA World Rankings. Do you think Mexico can win over a strong Ivory Coast? What do you think?

According to Provence, Mathieu Valbuena would be very dubious for the Trophy of the Champions vis-a-vis Lille this Wednesday.

The NFL has a national fan base. The NBA is big in a lot of cities and rural areas as various as New York, Indiana, California and Texas. Hockey has fans throughout the northern half of America, though American fans have proven over and over they prefer the Olympic style of play to the clutch and grab NHL duldrum. Even Soccer has the potential for a larger cross section of American fans than baseball, with all the kids who play soccer today.

and should I support gold coast united?

a toss up between Gomez and Almunia in goal though hahaha
Bale, Lennon HAVE to be in the team cmon you Gunners be fair now.
would you be kind enough to have TWO Tottenham Hotspur Centre backs in the back four too ?
we’ll go with Vermalaen as our lefback cos Kaboul and Ekotto are kind of inconsisent.
LB – Vermalaen (Arsenal)
CB – Michael Dawson (Tottenham)
CB – Ledley King (Tottenham)
RB – Sagna (Arsenal)
MR – Aaron Lennon (Tottenham
MC – Jack Wilshire (Arsenal)
MC – Luca Modric (Tottenham)
ML – Gareth Bale (Tottenham)
SC – Robin Van Persie (Arsenal)
SC – Jermaine Defoe (Tottenham)
Subs – Gomez (GK) , Woodgate (DC), Samir Nasri (AMRC/FW), Nicolas Bendtner (CF), Alex Song (DMC/DC), Theo Walcott (AMC/AMR/SC), Gael Clichy (DML/R, FB, DF, LW)
nice squad ?
Logic behind choices
LB – Vermalaen, the guy is versatile and is an attacking wingback who I feel could also operate as a Utility stand-by Winger for our Gareth Bale, a LW.who himself could revert back to LB if Verma got injured). With Kaboul on the bench, we have the luxury of not moving Bale to LB if Verma is injured as Kaboul can also operate as a Defender on the left if needed.
CB – Michael Dawson – hes solid as a rock and is better than any central defender at Arsenal right now.
CB – Ledley King – assuming hes 100% fit and ready, why not ? at 31 hes still got 3 or 4 years left in him – providing injuries havent taken a toll on the lad.
DR – Sagna – excellent centre back and not an easy one to get past, is comfortable going forward and knows where to make the pass to teamates – reliable and getting better year by year.
ML – Garteh Bale – was sensational last season as well as this season for us, and despie a drop in form and opposition players negating his threat – he will only adapt his game and mature and grow into a better player. Few can cope with his burst of pace out wide when hes gone past the fullback, hes either gonna score or provide an assist.
MC – Luca Modric – a midfield genius and one of our energetic industrious players, could call this lad the ‘midfield engine’. Good passer of the ball, great shot on him can go past a player or two if needed and isnt afraid to make tackles either.
MC – Jack Wilshire – probably the new star of English football, somebody described him as as ‘Scholes, Gerrard, Lampard’ combo – the best of three worlds.
MR – Aaron Lennon – excellent for us this year, also getting more consistent gradualy each season. Finaly fulfilling his potential.
SC – Robin Van Persie – when hes on form and injury free, hes as good as any centre forward on earth. World class striker up front is needed for any club to mount a title challenge, let alone ‘coast to the title’.
FW – Jermaine Defoe – perhaps overlooked and underrated in the air, an area of his game hes improved in to the point where – hes now very good in the air and can win headers and knock ons for teammates, holds the ball up excellently too – one of the most complete English strikers in the premiership.
thats my squad and my reasons. what do u think ?
